Treacherous Fire Gods

February 12th, 2010 by ase x

As promised here is part 2 of Fire Dusk, part one was the Fire Alphabet. I love the three amigo style of their performance. Just in case you didn’t catch the first part, Fire Dusk is a French based performance group with fire ninja skills. If you like weapon martial arts and fire you are probably going to get all hot and bothered over this one!

Ian Smith: Plane Bending Poi

February 10th, 2010 by Exuro

Ian Smith whom you know from the Vulcan Tech Blog videos on youtube, has put out a new fire video of his plane-bending 3-Dimensional poi adventures, and boy is it intense! It comes across as an artistic trompe l’oeil dance, in a style I can’t help but love.

FireDrums VIII

February 7th, 2010 by ase x

UPDATE:
FireDrums VIII will be held from May 6th through May 9th at Cutter Scout Camp.

in my opinion, Fire Drums is the most positive and educational fire performance retreat of the year. It bring world renound performers and everyone who attends is a teacher and a student. Since attending last year, I made so many friends and got the chance to meet performers and learn from those who have been inspiring me since I started spinning.

Fire Drums Yuta by insphyre performance

FireDrums is about bringing fire arts and drumming communities together to share knowledge and help introduce those interested in perusing these arts and is open to everyone at any skill level. Whether you’re learning, teaching, sharing, inspiring, or being inspired, we welcome everyone interested in participating. Everyone was a beginner at some point in their development and you can often learn as much and enjoy just as much pleasure from teaching as you can from being taught. There will be organized and interactive workshops in the various disciplines of the fire and flow arts and drumming throughout the gathering.

Fire Drums Fire Circle by insphyre performance

While FireDrums is a wonderfully playful gathering, it is not a rave or party scene. There are many ‘events’ , ‘parties’ and ‘happenings’ thru out the year. However, FireDrums is a gathering for all ages and we cherish this very special weekend and ask that all attending show the utmost respect for everyone as well as the amazingly beautiful setting where we will gather.
FireDrums is a Leave No Trace Gathering. Please help us keep the price of admission as low as possible by keeping the camp clean and taking all trash and recyclables with you.

Though FireDrums is not an exclusive gathering, the focus is about fire arts and acoustic drumming and other related instruments. Therefore, while friends and family of all ages are welcome, we ask you to not disseminate information to other lists not directly related to these arts.

Every FireDrums gathering has unfurled it’s own unique tapestry of bonding friendships and new found artistic desires. We have developed a growing crew of organizers who are collectively facilitating many workshops, healthy community meals and many more aspects that are making each gathering a more wonderful experience for all of us. All interested in helping are welcome.

Insphyre will report any and all news as follows. Keep your dates open and get excited to what I consider the most helpful spinning learning experience of the year.

3 Epic Balls!

February 4th, 2010 by Exuro

This is an epic 3 minute video from Komei Aoki and Masaki Hirano of Japan having a blast with 3 balls a piece! The limitations of 3 ball style are still being pushed and these two are sitting at the forefront of the journey.
