Basic Spinning Logics and Terms
There are many aspects to spinning and the basic terms and logics applies to every single spinning art form. A universal set of rules if you may. If you have been spinning for awhile you already know most of these terms, but it never hurts to check em out again.
180′s
Turning your body 180 degrees. When you do a 180 you turn so you are now doing the opposite direction that you just turned from.
This will help you learn all the reverse versions of your moves.
360s
A full 360 rotation.
BTB (behind the back)
Any move done behind your back.
Contact
Any kind of moves where the object is released from your hands and then balanced with any part of your body or object.
Directions
Forward Motion
If you were spinning like a regular jump rope you are said to be spinning forward. From behind your head, to in front of your head, to your knees to your feet and jumping, and back behind you again.
Reverse
is the opposite of Forward Motion
F&R/R&F
One going forward one going reverse.
Extensions
When your arms are fully extended.
Planes
The 3 spacial dimensions that you can spin cleanly in. X, Y, Z. They are known as the ceiling/floor, side, and wall planes.
Same Time
This is where both objects are going in the same motion and same exact timing.
Split Time
This is where one object is going in the same motion as the other but the timing is completely opposite.
UTL (Under The Leg)
When objects go between or through your legs.
Wallplane
The plane that the objects swing in, in front of you. If you are standing so you are facing a wall, that is the same plane as wallplane.
